Music & Theatre Teacher

Whitby School is looking for an experienced, creative Music & Theatre Teacher to join our arts team. Within the International Baccalaureate framework, Whitby teachers have the flexibility and resources to bring their ideas to life. Our well-supported arts program includes a dedicated performing arts center, and our curriculum framework provides structure while giving teachers room to be creative in how they inspire students and develop their skills in performance, composition, inquiry, and analysis.

You’ll join a collaborative arts team where your ideas can help shape the program and where students are encouraged to develop their creative voices through meaningful experiences in music and theatre. Experience leading or collaborating in Lower School theatre is a plus. (This is planned as a full-time position, but we may have flexibility for the right candidate seeking a part-time opportunity.)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field 
• Experience at teaching middle school-aged students
• Experience with or willingness to train in International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background check
