Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Head of School, the Substitute Teacher will step into K–6 classrooms with confidence, executing lesson plans left by the classroom teacher while creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. The Substitute Teacher will supervise and support students in accordance with the School’s mission, goals, and philosophy of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enthusiastically deliver daily lesson plans.
  • Maintain positive classroom management aligned with the School’s mission.
  • Support daily student supervision, including arrival, dismissal, recess, and lunch.
  • Collaborate fluidly with faculty, assistant teachers, and school leadership.
  • Adapt flexibly to shifting daily coverage needs across Kindergarten through Grade 6.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Education, Child Development, or related field preferred).
  • Experience leading or supporting elementary classroom environments.
  • Strong classroom management skills, a warm and student-centered approach, and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Flexibility, active communication, and a strong work ethic.
