Part-Time Social Media Specialist 

15–20 hours/week, September –June, Hourly, Non-Exempt

The Foote School is seeking an energetic and dynamic creator to lead its robust social media strategy. 

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social media content creation, analytics, and best practices, with an understanding of the particular needs and values of a school community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to align with Foote’s mission, vision, and values
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms
  • Leverage social media trends to gain traction and amplify our following; incorporate industry best practices
  • Set, monitor, and react to information based on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assist in managing social media advertising budgets
  • Manage social media tools and platforms used for scheduling, listening, and analytics

Other duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Event coverage, including photography, videography, and related editing
  • Collaboration with other school departments: admissions, development, and academics 
  • Administrative duties as assigned 

Professional Skills and Personal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field
  • Professional social media experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and innovation
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively with personnel, students, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and embrace change in support of the organization’s mission and goals
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Maintain confidentiality of all school information
  • Commitment to best practice as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a part-time, 10-month (September to June), hourly, non-exempt position. Expected 15–20 hours/week with potential to increase based on school needs.  

Hourly Compensation Range: $25–$30/hour
