Montessori Preschool Lead Teacher

Ezra Academy seeks a lead Montessori preschool teacher to join our team in August 2026. The ideal candidate has experience in a Montessori classroom with a commitment to a child-centered learning environment, someone who will work productively with a team and foster Montessori best practices. We champion candidates who demonstrate kindness and patience with young children and can engage our youngest minds in a Montessori classroom with warmth and guidance.

Ezra Academy is a Jewish day school with a Montessori program for kindergarten students and younger. Ezra Academy’s lower and upper schools serve students through eighth grade. We boast a student-centered, progressive pedagogy, a commitment to timeless Jewish values, and a commitment to excellence. We have shared our home with Congregation B’nai Jacob just outside of New Haven in Woodbridge, Connecticut, since 1969.

Bachelor's degree

Montessori certification

Professional experience working with children

Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity

Warmth of personality, a sense of humor, and a willingness and interest to engage with parents and participate in other aspects of our learning community

Ability to speak Hebrew and teach Jewish holidays and traditions a plus
