3rd Grade Teacher

Unquowa School, an independent, coeducational PreK–8 school located in Fairfield, CT, is seeking a full-time 3rd Grade Teacher to join our faculty beginning in August 2026.

We are looking for a warm, skilled, and experienced elementary educator who understands the academic, social, and emotional needs of third grade students and is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and thoughtfully develop Unquowa’s established third grade curriculum across core subject areas.
• Create a classroom culture that supports curiosity, independence, collaboration, and academic growth.
• Use instructional strategies and assessments to meet diverse learning needs, monitor progress, and inform instruction.
• Support students as they build confidence, responsibility and independence.
• Collaborate with colleagues, learning specialists, department chairs, and administrators to support curriculum alignment and student growth.
• Maintain clear and current curriculum documentation.
• Communicate regularly and supportively with families.
• Participate in the life of the school, including faculty meetings, professional development, student activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of prior lead teaching experience in elementary grades.
• Familiarity with Singapore Math, and/or Bookworms literacy program is a plus.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support a range of learners.
