SPANISH INSTRUCTOR
Full time, Exempt, Beginning Summer 2026

The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and be able to demonstrate a growth mindset and an interest in joining a residential community that serves a diverse student body. This position includes access to the school’s dining hall, use of school facilities, and professional development opportunities.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Faculty members at Salisbury School report to the Dean of Faculty. Their primary roles are to teach and support students in their area of study, advise students, coach two seasons, and serve residential life duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Must have strong computer skills.
Residential faculty members must have a Public Service License.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must be able to communicate effectively to perform your job successfully.
Must be able to work Monday through Saturday, evenings and weekends.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must have the ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm when dealing with personnel, students, and parents.
Must be proficient in composition of written communication.
PHYSICAL & SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without the aid of a mechanical device)
Must function independently and be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to communicate effectively to perform your job successfully.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to work in person, on campus.
Must be flexible and willing to adapt to new technology, teaching methods and/or schedules.
Must be able to physically teach, coach, advise, attend meetings and be an active member of residential life.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., without restrictions.
If coaching a sport, must be willing and able to travel and attend sporting events in the evening and on weekends.
Residential faculty members must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical classroom conditions.
Involved in residential life in dining hall, chapel and dormitories.
Outdoor weather and/or indoor conditions while coaching.
