Learning Support Teacher - Grades 3-5

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Our school is seeking an experienced, innovative Learning Support Teacher who excels in a highly collaborative environment. Working across multiple classrooms, you will partner with the co-teaching team to identify and support students with diverse learning needs. You will provide the deep differentiation and small-group support necessary for success by utilizing both push-in and pull-out models. and implement formal assessment tools to measure and monitor learning progress of students. This full-time position is a unique opportunity to provide effective, consistent intervention across grades 3–5, ensuring growth for all learners within our dynamic faculty.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Embracing and fulfilling Whitby’s mission statement.
• Advanced degree in Literacy, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience in learning support or a related field.
• Specific experience working with students in grades 3–5.
• Expertise in formal and informal reading/writing assessments and the design of Instructional Plans (IPs)
• Experience facilitating inquiry-based learning; IBPYP experience is a distinct advantage.
• Excellent work ethic and strong communication skills for collaborating with parents and external professionals.
• Willingness to engage in professional development both inside and outside of the regular teacher calendar.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background and health checks.
