Ridgefield Academy and Landmark Preschool (RA|LP) seeks a dedicated and proactive Advancement Coordinator to join its Advancement Team.
The Advancement Office is a collaborative, five-person team that serves the entire school community through marketing, communications, community and alumni engagement, and fundraising. As an integral member of this team, the Advancement Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations of a highly effective advancement office while gaining meaningful, hands-on experience across multiple functional areas. They will be a regular presence on campus, often attending student-facing events and activities throughout the school week.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and creative professional who enjoys juggling varied responsibilities and contributing to a mission-driven environment. The Advancement Coordinator reports to the Director of Advancement and works closely with other members of the Advancement team on project-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications (30%)
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Advancement Associate on content development and photo support for the weekly school newsletter, including monthly features such as the Community Corner.
- Manage and grow the school’s LinkedIn presence, supporting brand visibility and engagement.
- Participate in regular marketing strategy and planning meetings to support the admissions goals of the School.
- Contribute ideas and content, in collaboration with the Director of Advancement and Marketing & Advancement Associate, to the annual school magazine, Connections.
- Design and produce promotional materials, including flyers, campus signage, and banners, as requested.
- Provide weekly content updates for campus display monitors.
- Manage event listings across internal and external calendars.
Alumni Engagement (30%)
- Partner with the Director of Advancement and Advancement Officer to identify, engage, and steward alumni through events, communications, and programming.
- Plan and execute alumni communications, including quarterly newsletters, class notes requests, and event invitations.
- Identify opportunities to involve alumni in campus life and develop new engagement initiatives.
- Research and track alumni accomplishments and identify candidates for spotlights, interviews, and community features.
- Conduct alumni interviews and produce profiles or articles for publication online, in newsletters, in Connections, or through other channels.
Development & Volunteer Support (20%)
- Enter gifts into the database in an accurate and timely manner; generate acknowledgments and receipts; partner with the Business Office on reconciliation and reporting.
- Alongside other members of the Advancement Team and with guidance from the Advancement Officer, participate in all aspects of school events—from preparation and setup to welcoming guests and event breakdown—helping to offer engaging and successful experiences for our community.
General Office Support (20%)
- Provide administrative support—including monthly departmental credit-card reconciliation, office supply management, event-related preparation, among other tasks—as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two or more years of experience in a team-oriented office environment strongly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, follow-through, and discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mac operating systems required. Experience with photography, videography, social media, and content creation tools such as Canva and Adobe products preferred.
- Familiarity with Veracross or similar database systems, a plus.

Standard hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; flexibility requested, with advance notice, for evening events or special projects.
