Student leadership and well-being are connected to every academic discipline, as all full-time teachers are also grade-level advisors.  

The school offers a coed program for young children at the Barat Center for Early Childhood Education and then an all-girls experience from K-12 on our 110-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut.  We are proudly part of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.

We are currently seeking an experienced and versatile Dance Teacher to cover a maternity leave from approximately February through March 2026.

Position: Dance Teacher- maternity leave replacement (February-March 2026)
Reports to: Heads of Upper, Middle and Lower School; Performing Arts Chair
FLSA Status: Exempt

Key Responsibilities & Flexibility:

  • This is a temporary contract with the potential for extension.
  • The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable to evolving needs.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience teaching students across the full age range of K-12th grade.
  • Proficiency in teaching multiple styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and/or Contemporary. Knowledge of Liturgical Dance is a plus, but not required.

K & 1st Grade

Ballet and Jazz

Lead engaging, upbeat classes; incorporate creative movement songs.

2nd - 4th Grade

Musical Choreography

Choreograph multiple dances for the Spring Musical, coordinating requirements with the Music Teacher.

Middle School (6th)

Jazz & Hip Hop Basics

Teach ten classes (5 Jazz, 5 Hip Hop), focusing on foundational skills and fun choreography

Upper School

Performance Preparation

Teach two sections; set two pieces for the Spring Concert and accompany students on one dance-centered field trip.
