Position(s) Overview:
Oversee The Master’s School Middle School team under the guidance and support of the
athletic department. Responsible for the coaching of student athletes in game strategies and
techniques at the middle school level.
Position starts in Fall with a break at Christmas. Practices/games may be at least three (3) days
per week.
Instruction:
• Organize and run appropriate practices in preparation for middle school competition
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs of and improve the student
athletes' performance
• Communicate team policies and expectations clearly to student athletes
Program Management:
• Communicate regularly and effectively with Athletic Department on team needs
• Have thorough knowledge of Athletic Department, HVAL, and NEPSAC policies
• Communicate regularly and effectively with athletic trainers on health status of athletes
• Report scores and statistics in an efficient and timely manner
• Maintain statistics and records for the season
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the sport being coached
• CPR/AED certified
• Able to obtain an A Endorsement for Connecticut Driver’s License

• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills

The Master's School is a non-denominational, Christian, college-preparatory day school
enrolling boys and girls in preschool through grade 12. The school has three sections: Lower
(preschool-grade 5), Middle (grades 6-8), and Upper (grades 9-12). The school is located on a
beautifully wooded 76-acre, 11-building campus with three athletic fields in West Simsbury. The
school serves families from more than 40 towns throughout the central Connecticut and
southwestern Massachusetts areas.
Founded in 1970, The Master's School is fully accredited by the New England Association of
Schools and Colleges, and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.
Enrollment typically is around 300 students, with classes averaging 15 students.
