The Norwich Free Academy is seeking an Athletic Director. The main responsibilities is to maintain, organize, and administer the overall program of interscholastic athletics, including intramural activities, while upholding the proud traditions of Norwich Free Academy athletics. The Athletic Director will work to build upon a history of excellence, foster success for student-athletes, and promote athletic programs that have a positive and lasting impact on the school community. Programs should reflect the mission of NFA, support student growth and teamwork, and inspire school spirit and pride. This is a full time, 12 month administrative position with a full benefits package, including vacation, holidays, health insurance, and contribution to the Connecticut Teacher Retirement Board. Compensation: $150,000 – $155,000.

Qualifications: 

  1. Valid Connecticut 092 Intermediate Administrator and Supervisor Certificate required.
  2. Successful prior experience as an Athletic Director and/or School Administrator.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to supervise and evaluate staff.
  4. Strong organizational skills, with experience overseeing multiple programs and events.
  5. Knowledge of CIAC rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  6. Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
  7. Experience in budget development and management.
