We are currently seeking a Lower School Learning Specialist. The ideal candidate will have training in special education and a proven ability to provide targeted academic support that helps students reach their full potential. This educator will be a compassionate and adaptable professional who understands the developmental and cognitive needs of students in grades 1–4, and who collaborates effectively with teachers and parents to ensure that each child thrives. Candidates should bring expertise in diagnostic assessment, learning accommodations, and individualized learning plans. 

This position is 4 to 5 days/week, 20 hours per week. 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Special Education strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2–4 years of teaching experience in special education.
  • Experience creating and facilitating individualized learning plans
  • Strong diagnostic, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Familiarity with DIBELS, Orton-Gillingham, and/or Wilson programs preferred
