Kingswood Oxford seeks a dynamic and student-centered Learning Specialist to join its Wellness Team. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in supporting students with learning differences, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to fostering academic confidence and success in students from grades 6–12.

Working closely with another Learning Specialist, school counselors, and academic leaders, this individual will provide direct support to students, collaborate with faculty, and help ensure students receive consistent, equitable academic accommodations.

Responsibilities:

Student Support and Caseload Management

  • Provide individualized academic coaching with a focus on executive functioning, study skills, and self-advocacy.
  • Monitor student progress, set goals, and collaborate with Form Deans, families, and

Learning Plans and Accommodations

  • Review psychoeducational evaluations and create individualized School
  • Coordinate accommodations for testing and exams, and act as liaison with public schools and testing agencies.

Teaching and Community Engagement

  • Co-teach one section of Wyvern Wellness (Grade 9) and one Middle School Skills
  • Participate in Curriculum Night, Open House, and other community events as

Faculty Collaboration and Professional Development

  • Partner with teachers to support differentiated instruction and inclusive
  • Offer faculty development in learning strategies and executive functioning

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting students with learning differences in academic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with students and

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related
  • Familiarity with College Board/ACT accommodations and independent school
