Music & Theatre Teacher

Whitby School is seeking an experienced music and theatre teacher to join our arts team and teach in our International Baccalaureate Middle School Programme (IB MYP). As an IB school, we foster a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment. Our teachers are facilitators who encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and a global perspective. As a teacher within this framework, you will inspire students to explore music and theatre from diverse cultures and develop their creative expression through performance, composition, and analysis. The ability to lead or collaborate in lower school theatre classes is preferred. While this is planned as a full-time position, part time may be available. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field 
• Experience at teaching middle school-aged students
• Experience with or willing to train in International Baccalaureate MYP
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background check
