Unquowa School, an independent, coeducational PreK–8 school in Fairfield, Connecticut, with a proud history of progressive education dating back to 1917, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing to join our leadership team for the 2025–26 school year starting July 1, 2025.

The Director of Marketing will play a key role in shaping and communicating the school’s story—driving enrollment, strengthening brand identity, and amplifying the Unquowa experience both on campus and in the broader community.

Job Summary 

Reporting directly to the Head of School and collaborating closely with the senior leadership team, the Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy to elevate the visibility and reputation of The Unquowa School. This strategic leader will be responsible for advancing the school’s brand, supporting enrollment efforts, and strengthening community engagement through a range of digital and print media. The Director will oversee—and actively contribute to—the planning, design, budgeting, and production of all marketing materials and admission-related events. In addition, the Director will manage the school’s advertising, publicity, and public relations initiatives to ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all channels.

Qualifications 

The Director of Marketing will have the following qualifications: 

  • A BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to marketing and communications. 
  • Outstanding speaking, writing, editing, and computer skills. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  •  Deep knowledge of the principles of marketing and communications and fluency in using social media effectively.
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Previous independent school experience is a plus. D
  • Demonstrated success in bringing regular, positive media attention to an organization.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.
