Marvelwood School - Assistant Director of Admission

Marvelwood School seeks an Assistant Director of Admission to join a cohesive and dedicated three-person Admission Office. The Assistant Director will collaborate with the team to recruit, engage, enroll, and retain mission-appropriate students through the admission process, including outreach events, campus visits, interviews, and application review.  We’re looking for a kind, reflective, and growth-oriented professional who is eager to try new ideas, brings flexibility and curiosity to their work, and thrives within a supportive, collaborative team. This is a 12-month, full-time, in-person administrative staff position with a flexible start date between June 1 and September 3, 2025. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Admission team to develop and implement international and domestic recruiting strategies to attract, enroll, and retain mission-appropriate applicants.
  • Cultivate and maintain a strong network of relationships with feeder schools, peer schools, families, educational consultants, and the broader community. 
  • Communicate with prospective families and guests by responding to inquiries and providing thorough, timely follow-up.
  • Work collaboratively and productively with senior leadership, faculty, and other school constituencies.
  • Provide complete and efficient service to prospective families, visitors, and guests by answering questions and providing follow-up communications.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective students and their families.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead admission events and campus visits, ensuring an engaging and informative experience for prospective families and external constituents.
  • Enhance Marvelwood’s visibility and reputation through outreach to feeder school placement directors and educational consultants.
  • Represent and promote the school at school fairs and other admission events.
  • The role requires domestic and international travel and occasional weekend and evening hours.
  • Serve as an Admission Committee member to review applications and recommend admission decisions.
  • Maintain accurate admission records and ensure data integrity.
  • Identify and provide insights to support recruitment and financial aid strategies.
  • Participate in general admission office activities and other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Head of School.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum three years of admission experience in an independent school or higher education.
  • Appreciation for and commitment to the mission and values of Marvelwood School.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with parents, students, faculty, staff, and external professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.  
  • A self-motivated, collaborative professional with a strong work ethic and a warm, welcoming, and gracious professional manner.
  • Ability to actively listen and a genuine curiosity to understand the complex needs of families through the admissions process.
  • Strong cultural competency skills and the ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail, and adept at meeting deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Impeccable ethics and a demonstrated commitment to confidentiality. 
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Veracross, data management, and/or willingness to learn applications as required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of office work and admission-related travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
