Digital Communications Associate

The Digital Communications Associate will create compelling content using social media, photography, and videography, and will make use of other forms of media including illustration and artwork to engage The Ethel Walker School’s audiences across traditional and digital media. They will manage the School’s social media accounts, with an eye toward growing our audiences and increasing engagement with the School’s content. A hands-on creator, the Digital Communications Associate must have a keen understanding of the principles of storytelling, a strong portfolio of work, and the ability to closely abide by brand guidelines.

Responsibilities Include:

• Document all aspects of Walker’s life and propagate across social media, school website, newsletters, and printed materials
• Systematize the collection and tracking of student, faculty, and alumnae accomplishments for social media, the alumnae magazine, and admission materials
• Craft compelling written content to accompany social media posts and short web stories
• Execute a collaboratively developed social media strategy
• Support the work of the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar content creation role
• Demonstrated ability in photography, videography, and social media
• Strong written and verbal communications skills; confident in proofreading
• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
• An approachable attitude and eagerness to build partnerships across campus
• Working knowledge in the Adobe design suite, Google Suite, and/or eagerness to learn
• Enthusiastic about learning emerging marketing and communications trends and technologies
• Confidentiality
• Willingness to work evening and weekend events

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Digital Media, English, or Journalism
• Experience working in independent schools
