Functional and Sculptural Ceramics Visual Art Teacher

The Loomis Chaffee School announces a search for a full-time Ceramics Teacher to begin teaching in August 2025. The preferred candidate has an MFA, experience teaching at the secondary school level, thorough knowledge of the media of ceramics, including kiln-formed work, and an obvious joy in working with adolescents. The ability to teach classes across the Visual Arts Department is a plus.

Loomis Chaffee is a boarding school and in addition to teaching Visual Arts, other responsibilities could include dormitory residence or affiliation as well as participation in the afternoon program at the school in a manner commensurate with the candidate’s skills. Housing may be available.
