Middle School Writing and Literature Teacher
Position Overview: Unquowa School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Middle School
Writing and Literature Teacher to join our dedicated Humanities department. This position
offers an exciting opportunity for an educator who loves to inspire students in the areas of
writing, reading comprehension, and critical thinking. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about
working collaboratively with a team of faculty members and fostering a positive, inclusive, and
engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
● Teach middle school students within the Humanities department, with a focus on writing
composition, mechanics and vocabulary instruction
● Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster critical thinking, creativity, and
strong writing skills.
● Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student
participation and growth.
● Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work, helping them improve their
writing and analytical skills.
● Collaborate with fellow Humanities department teachers to create cross-curricular
learning experiences.
● Participate in department meetings, school events, and professional development
opportunities.
● Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
● Prior teaching experience in middle school or a similar setting.
● Strong knowledge of middle school writing and literature curricula.
● Passion for teaching and inspiring students.
● Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.
● A collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to the school’s overall mission
and culture.
