Kingswood Oxford is seeking an Upper School History teacher who is passionate, innovative, and collaborative – an educator who models a growth mindset and is committed to equity-focused pedagogy. In addition to having a strong educational background and teaching experience in History, successful candidates will be technologically savvy, have experience with curriculum design, and model best teaching practices. Candidates should also understand the importance of involvement in the community, student engagement and empowerment, ongoing professional development, and authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff to advance the school’s mission and strategic vision.

Curricularly, successful candidates should have a background in modern world history and be passionate about making connections between the cross-cultural developments of the past five hundred years and today’s political and cultural landscapes. Experience in teaching economics and/or human geography will also be considered favorable but are not required.

The position involves multiple parts:

  • Teaching 4 classes in history
  • Coaching/co-curricular duties for one season or the equivalent
  • Advising a small group of students

These duties will be determined in discussion with the Department Chair, the Director of Athletics, and the Head of the Upper School.
