High School Special Education Teacher

Villa Maria School - Stamford, CT
Full-time
Application Deadline: Apr 1, 2025
Upper School

For 50 years, Villa Maria School has believed in the extraordinary capabilities of every student. Currently, we are searching for an high school special education teacher with a literacy or math background  to begin on February 1, 2025.

At Villa, each student's program is designed to provide skills remediation in a small class (4:1 ratio), with an emphasis on social-emotional development. Classes are organized by learning profile so that academic and social-emotional goals can be targeted by the teachers within the classroom throughout the day.

Our small, thoughtfully designed classes ensure that each student receives the individualized attention they need to succeed. With a team of dedicated and skilled teachers, we create an inclusive and supportive environment where our students, who have diagnoses that include language-based learning disorders, auditory processing disorders, nonverbal learning disabilities, ASD, and ADHD, realize their potential by developing meaningful relationships through skill development. Villa does not accept students with primary behavioral or emotional needs.

The successful Villa Maria teacher has a great sense of humor and is a creative thinker who is flexible and patient, works well within a team environment and has excellent writing and communication skills.

Join us in our mission to positively impact the lives of children and support the success of our students academically, socially, and emotionally.
