Upper School Assistant Swimming Coach

The school offers a coed program for young children at the Barat Center for Early Childhood Education and then an all-girls experience from K-12 on our 110-acre campus in Greenwich, Connecticut.  We are proudly part of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.
 
We are currently seeking an Upper School Assistant Swimming coach to join our Athletic Department for the 2024-2025 winter season. 
 
Position: Upper School Assistant Swimming Coach
Reports to: Director of Athletics, Head Swimming Coah Coach
FLSA Status: Stipend, part-time position
 
Job Summary and Duties:
 
Duties include:
- Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new players
- Collaborate with coaching staff to plan, organize and run daily practices
- Attend all practices and games at the direction of the Head Swimming Coach and Director of Athletics
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities
- Comply with Sacred Heart and sport-specific organization policies and procedures
- Assist in maintaining equipment
- Communicate effectively with parents and students
 
Typical practice times are:

• Upper School: Season starts November 2024, 4:00-6:00pm, Monday- Friday; occasional Saturday meets
• Travel with the team for practices and meets is required. Some meets require early departure for Upper School level teams.
   

Qualifications
The ideal coaching candidate will have experience with the sport at the college level, or equivalent, expertise in teaching sport-specific skills and strategy and the ability to relate and communicate effectively with young women. 
 
The candidate should be energetic, approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic athletic and learning community.
